Safety
Fraud & scam safety
Listed SA moderates listings and verifies agencies, but no marketplace can eliminate every risk. Use these checks before you pay, sign, or share sensitive details.
Red flags
- Anyone asking you to pay a deposit, viewing fee, or “holding fee” before you have seen the property or signed a proper agreement
- Requests to pay via instant EFT to a personal account, gift cards, crypto, or overseas wallets
- Listings priced far below comparable properties with pressure to “act today”
- Sellers or landlords who refuse video calls, viewings, or to share verifiable identity / agency details
- Messages that move you quickly off-platform and discourage using Listed SA’s enquiry tools
- Documents that look edited, or an agent who cannot show PPRA / FFC details when acting as a practitioner
Safer habits
- Prefer Verified agencies and always check whether a listing is Agency or Private
- Use the listing enquiry form first so there is a record of contact
- Verify company registration and FFC details on the agency profile when available
- Never transfer money based only on photos or WhatsApp promises
- Report suspicious listings immediately with Report this listing
- For practitioner concerns, also see our PPRA guidelines and the official PPRA site
Report a listing
Every listing page and card has Report this listing. Tell us what looks wrong — we review reports and may remove listings or revoke verification.
